Yesterday it was 90 degrees here. Today, it's been raining and gusting all day long, and it's freezing. I'm so not ready for icky weather. So I put soup in the crock pot, and would have made some bread to go with it, but my brain is too fried from test preparations; I don't think I would have activated the yeast properly. The bread will have to wait.
This card is made based on the Sketch Challenge on SCS today. I don't play along with too many sketch challenges anymore. Something about this layout, I really liked, so I decided to give it a whirl. Now, in hindsight, I would stamp the flowers and sentiment on creamy cardstock instead of white. The white seems really bright in comparison to the rest of the card. I even thought about restamping, and gluing down on top of the panels, but I have a 99% chance of messing the whole card up if I do that.
So, really...what's cooking? Do you have a great crock pot recipe. I love crock pot dinners, especially when it gets cold. So if you have a recipe you love, leave me a link to where it's at. I'd love to get some new ideas.

this is very nice, love the LO!
how very pretty!
The colors look great together and I like the layout of this card too.
I just used my crockpot for "Melt in your mouth Roast." It's on my blog under main courses. It makes great sandwhiches.
This is so pretty! I love your interpretation of the sketch! I used my Fall Elegance set : ) I always do the same thing as far as automatically stamping on white and then wishing I had stamped on cream. Oh well...
Love these colors together….red white and blue but broken up to look not-so patriotic since you have that kraft in there. And that ribbon treatment is different too - - those colors together are really cool.
We use the crock pot A LOT - - so that when we get home from work dinner is done. Sometimes on the weekend in the winter too for like soups….love calico beans – I’m sure you have that recipe. I love to invent things in the crock pot - - you have a pack of onion soup mix and the possibilities are endless!
I think this looks just fine in white. It gives the card a spot of brightness amidst your otherwise subdued color palette. I like the red, blue and kraft together and like the way you continued the pattern on the two squares and included a sentiment and pattern together.
I love my crockpot all year long. It's so nice to be able to take 15 minutes to throw things in it in the morning and know that when I get home from work that dinner is ready! I try a lot of different recipes. I do have a fave called Country Captain which has the main ingredients of shrimp, chicken, apples, raisins and rice. It's from an old cookbook so no link online. But if you are really interested, I would be glad to photocopy and mail it to you.
I've been meaning to ask how school was going this semester. Your already have a test? Seems to early to start that business already :-)
Well, heck. I drew a sketch similar to this just last night for my Sketch Girl blog. I'll have to change it. Love this card, Rebecca.
