Swapping Time

This is the card I made for a swap on SCS. I've done PTI swaps with this group of gals, and it's so much fun. Well, this time, in addition to the regular PTI swap, I joined a "Man Cards swap" that Jen was hostessing. Both of these swaps are due in the next 2 weeks, so this was not a great time for my creativity to go MIA. I finally was able to pull together a layout and design that I love, and hope the other "Man Cards" swappers will as well. I'm off to the post office to get these in the mail, then home to spend some computer time catching up on what I've missed this last week. Hope your Monday is shaping up to be a good one!

Stamps: SU Loads of Love
Ink: Ranger Coffee, Copics, Prismacolors
CS: PTI Lemon Tart, Spring Rain, White
Accessories: PTI New Leaf Twill Ribbon, SU Scallop Trim Punch

I like this card! I like the happy birthday stamped on the lemon cardstock and the way you colored the truck. I've been making my blog rounds last night and this morning and was so glad to see your post before I got offline.

The Man Card swap - that sounds funny. This is the perfect image for man cards though. And I love that little truck because you can make it red with Christmas presents and use it on Christmas cards or something. And I'm a super fan of that SU! punch too!

So fun. Your CAS layout is perfect to show off the truck. I like the rounded corners and how the sentiment is repeated over the whole bottom panel.

So what do you do with your swap cards once you receive them? I've participated in a few swaps. Once for cards. Most of the ones I got back were so awful. No offense to the cardmakers but I don't know if they were just inexperienced or did a sloppy job because they were giving the cards away or were in a rush to finish them. But I realized that even if they were terrific, it's not like I would ever use them as in send them out to people I know since I didn't make them myself. After two years of sitting in a basket, I ended up canabalizing them for their parts or paper so they'd get some use. I've also participated in a couple of ATC swaps, but again, I had no use for what I received back so I stopped doing that too. Now I prefer to spend the time I would have on making cards for swaps to making cards for charity.
