Celebrating the Magic of Christmas

What a long, crazy week it has been here. We've all been sick, and finally this morning I'm starting to feel like I will get better! The kids missed their Halloween parties at school, picture re-take day, and I missed Parent Teacher Conferences (I have them rescheduled with their teachers). All week I kept thinking about making this card, and last night I finally got my stuff out and made it. I love this tree! My mother-in-law has a gorgeous tree that is huge, and every year she covers it in ornaments. Really old ones that she's had for a long time, ones that she inherited from her mom when she passed away. This card is for her. If this was really her tree, it would be covered in ornaments, with no gaps at all! I love the Ripe Avocado and Scarlet Jewel together. I think they're a great Christmas combo.

Stamps: PTI Tree Trimming Trio
Ink: PTI Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel, Colorbox Silver
CS: PTI Rustic Cream
Accessories: Holiday Button Mix

Beautiful tree! I like the buttons. Sorry to hear you have all been sick. Glad you are better!

Our Halloween carnival was cancelled for today becuz of the flu. I'm headed uptown for trick or trunk pretty soon...I wonder if the attendance will be very good. Last year there were a ton! We park our cars in a designated spot and open our trunk and pass out treats. All the stores hand them out too. It's handy and safe so parents really like it.

Not much of a Halloween for many with all this flu!

So that's how CAS people use this tree on a card! Annnnnd...I love that silver for the tree stand too - - very cool; would have never thought of that. I like too how you're making cards with people in mind - - that's more personal than already being personal with the handmade. Glad to see you're up to making and posting a card!

I was wondering why you hadn't posted in a week. I thought you might just be really busy. I'm so sorry it's because your family was ill. Hopefully this will be the only time this winter.

What a nice story about your m-i-l's tree. I'm sure she will really like this card. It's a nice tribute.
