Finally Friday!

Here is a card I made for a friend. I love the hibiscus burst buttons. The other day I finally decided to thread my buttons from time to time. So when we were at Wal-mart for milk and bread, I went over to get some embroidery thread. I couldn't find it anywhere. I asked the worker, and she said that they weren't keeping that in stock anymore, and wouldn't be ordering any in the future. huh? So I left freeling rather frazzled, as that had ruined my plans. For today, I took back some of the thread my daughter has claimed and added to her craft stash. I'm just curious now if anyone else who shops at Wal-mart has had this problem where they are. Anyway, it's Friday, and I'm off to clean house so I can do nothing all weekend (I wish) but eat chocolate and celebrate Mother's Day!

This is very pretty. I like the threading in the buttons.

Although I rarely buy craft products at my local W*Mart, I know they have a pretty extensive line of product. But the W*marts in the "big cities" where I live have almost nothing anymore. This actually makes sense around here. The W*Mart closest to where I live is the only store in town where you can get craft stuff so they would be more likely to sell it there. The bigger city W*Marts have AC Moore, JoAnns and Michaels not too far away so it's less likely you would shop for crafts there when you have actual craft storee nearby.

It could be too that cross stitch and embroidery just aren't as popular as they used to be. Back in the early 80s I cross stitched like a fiend. But after my house was filled with cross stitched wall hangings and pillow as were the walls and couches of all my family and friends, I realized I needed to find a different craft!

Very pretty. I love that quote. I have taken to using Scrapper's Floss from Karen Foster to "thread" my buttons for cards and layouts. It comes in multiple colors and you can dye the white to be any color you want. It's also a little easier for me to work with than thread since I have problems with my hands sometimes. I buy it from The Angel Company, but I'm not sure where else you can get it from.

I like the distressing you did on your card! So pretty.

I am going to order some buttons from PTI and was wondering if you knew if the colors are close to any SU paper colors? I like some of the ribbon too...A few weeks ago I downloaded some of their paper and tomorrow I'm posting a card I made with some of the squares. The chocolate seems similiar to SU.

I'll have to look at our Wallys to see if they have floss. I dont think I remember seeing any.

Oh Wow! This is beautiful, love the sentiment and the buttons! sometimes I use scrappers floss to thread through the buttons.
