Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

Here is the card I made for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7. Since I first started ordering from Papertrey Ink, their Ripe Avocado was the first color that I found myself having to reorder. I love that shade of green. On the other hand, while I don't dislike their Spring Moss, I just don't use it very often. Today's card uses both of my new stamp sets. It's so fun to play with new toys! There are so many gorgeous cards out there using the Friends 'Til The End set. This card here was my inspiration for this card. I changed the background, left off the brads, didn't add the leaf, and instead of coloring my flower, just stamped it onto paper and cut it out. Oh, and I added a button for the center of the flower. I'm trying to add buttons now, but I don't know. I got some scrappers floss that had been recommended to me. The way it is on this button, to me it just looks like I twisted an old rubber band through the holes. I still need to work on that I guess! That's all for today! Enjoy your Friday!!!

Stamps: PTI Background Basics: Text Style, PTI Friends 'Til The End
Ink: PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI Ripe Avocado
Cardstock: PTI Ripe Avocado, PTI Spring Moss, SU Rose Red
Accessories: PTI Hibiscus Burst Button

You cut out that flower? I should have kept that set….but I split it with a friend and kept the sentiments only – LOL You did a great job with this challenge….have you gotten in the spotlight? I’m one of those have to win kinda people…I’ve entered some challenges lately and haven’t “won” so I’m soured on them for a bit – ha. Love the button – did you thread it on a machine? It looks good.

It turned out very pretty. You did such a great job lining up the text for the background. I just bought that set and was wondering about that. I also did a card swap and cut out 25 of those flowers! But I think it's so worth it, especially when you make a pretty card like yours!

Beautiful work on this color challenge, the card looks like it came right from the bouquet!

Sometimes I try to thread a sliver of paper through the button holes and tie them which works well if done with care.

You really captured the feel of the vase of flowers. That raspberry is such a vibrant color. I don't have that one yet, but I have some pieces of a lot of the other PTI colors. I actually really like the spring moss best of all of them. Funny, I wouldn't have necessarily notices anything about the thread you used in the button, but it does sort of look like a rubber band. Not that that's a bad thing. Because the thickness of it adds more interest than a thin thread might in such a large button.

I love what you did with the colors. One of the best examples I've seen. TFS
